What’s in a name?

Why the name Bramble and Olive?

Good question. It’s something I am always curious about when a company has a quirky (doesn’t really say what it is on the tin) name.

For me, when I was thinking about names I knew I wanted something that was nature inspired. My art celebrates all natural things so this was a key aspect in my decision.

So Bramble, not only is this a wonderful plant that is in abundance in possibly my favourite season, but it’s also the name of my mum’s dog. She is small, feisty, completely loopy and pretty much my spirit animal!

The Olive part is me. My name means ‘of the olive tree’, a symbol of peace. I wanted to have a direct connection to the identity of my brand, and what better way than by name.
