Celebrating wildflower week

The first week in May is Wildflower Week. It is a lovely reminder that some of the most beautiful blooms are often the ones growing quietly at the edges of paths, meadows and hedgerows. Across the UK, wildflowers like bluebells, oxeye daisies, poppies and cornflowers bring colour, movement and life to the landscape, while also supporting bees, butterflies and other pollinators that help our ecosystems thrive.

At Bramble & Olive, wildflowers are a constant source of inspiration for me. Their natural shapes, soft colours and sense of place often find their way into my painted designs. There is something timeless about wildflowers, they feel both joyful and gently nostalgic, capturing the beauty of the changing seasons.

Wildflower Week is a wonderful time to slow down and notice what is growing around you. A walk in the countryside, a moment in the garden, or simply spotting flowers along a roadside can be enough to reconnect with nature and the small details that often go unnoticed.

If you’d like to share that feeling with someone else, my flower cards are inspired by the beauty of British blooms and are perfect for thoughtful notes, birthdays and everyday connection. Our wildflower wrapping paper also brings a little of the meadow indoors, adding a nature-inspired touch to gifts and special moments.

Sometimes the smallest flowers leave the strongest impression. This Wildflower Week, I’m celebrating the colour, character and quiet magic of the wildflowers that make the British landscape so special.
